AirSculpt® Fat Transfers Seattle

Saline Implants vs Fat Transfers to The Breast—Which Should You Choose?

Saline Implants

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, there has been a 48% increase in breast augmentation surgery since 2000. In the year 2000, around 212,500 were getting their breasts enlarged, growing to the staggering number of 313,735 by 2018.

Seattleites are not far behind. Women from Seattle are not exactly looking to have super large breasts, but more to create a balanced contour.

At this point, we know this is one of the most sought-after plastic surgeries in the US. The main reason women get breast augmentation is that they are biologically disposed to smaller ones while experiencing a change in their size and shape from experiences like childbirth, breastfeeding, rapid weight loss, or even breast cancer.

I am a mother, and I am very aware of what being pregnant, and breastfeeding can do to your breasts. Although being a mother is an absolutely enchanting experience, it does take a toll on your body. I find it quite magical to see options that can help you feel like the real you.

Whatever the reason is for you to be reading this, I want you to feel reassured by the research you are doing before making a choice.  So let’s figure out what options you have and which is the safest, most appropriate path for you.

There are different ways to enlarge your breasts; you have saline implants, silicone implants, gummy bear implants, fat transfers, and more. Saline implants and silicone implants have similar characteristics and side-effects, while fat transfers are a whole different story.

Saline Implants

Both saline implants and silicone implants have an outer shell that covers the fluid found on the inside.

Their main distinction is that saline implants are filled with sterile water, and while performing surgery, the shell is inserted into the breast, once it’s in place the doctor fills the implant with water. On the other hand, silicone implants are previously filled with the silicone gel and inserted as is.

Many women like silicone breast implants because they claim it feels like the natural breast.

Fat Transfer to the Breasts

Fat transfers to the breast are just that. The surgeon goes in and removes fat from unwanted areas in your body, most commonly in the belly or thighs, and inserts that same fat into the breasts, enhancing the size of your breasts.

This is a natural process because it does not require inserting alien objects into your body that could cause a variety of side effects.

Weighing the Risks

Every surgery or cosmetic procedure comes with risk, some more than others. Let’s take a look at what these risks breast enhancement procedures could pose.

Most breast augmentation procedures require general anesthesia, which is risky in itself. They can cause dizziness, nausea, loss of consciousness, and more. Apart from this, you must know that inserting a foreign object, like saline implants, in your body can also be dangerous.

Some women have experienced neurological damage and an odd sense of self that has severely affected their psychological well-being.

One of the most significant advantages of fat transfers, other than superior results, is how natural the entire procedure is. You are using a substance from your own body and relocating it to a preferred area, killing two birds with one stone all while being wide awake in the entirety of the procedure.

Time is the only limited resource in the world. So, wasting it is not exactly an option for many. Especially in Seattle, where men and women are running around, getting things done before the sun goes away.

Breast augmentations with saline implants, or any implant for that matter, can take a couple of weeks to get back to your regular activities while getting a fat transfer you can get back to work within just a couple of days!

So, Which Should You Choose?

I think the only person that can truly know what you want is you. Do your research and weigh your options to make sure which is the best choice for you.
