Dr. Jonathan Alford is a board-certified cosmetic surgeon and one of the only physicians in the Midwest to be dual-trained in both cosmetic surgery and obstetrics & gynecology. Dr. Alford feels it is a privilege to be a physician and surgeon, and he is honored that patients place their faith and trust in him when having cosmetic surgery.
Dr. Alford has exceptional educational experience and unique surgical training. Dr. Alford attended Louisiana State University in his hometown of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He earned his degree in biochemistry and developed a deep appreciation for research. He then completed a dual degree program at St. George’s University, earning both a Master’s Degree in Public Health and his Doctorate of Medicine. Dr. Alford then completed his residency training at Beaumont Hospital in Southeast Michigan. Throughout his residency, Dr. Alford served on numerous departmental and hospital administrative committees as a resident representative. In his final year of residency, he served as Chief Resident.
Following his residency training, Dr. Alford completed a highly sought-after American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery accredited fellowship in Indianapolis. There he trained with Dr. Robert Jackson and Dr. Chris Lowery, both past presidents of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and diplomates of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery. During this fellowship, Dr. Alford completed over 1,000 cosmetic surgeries.

Dr. Alford specializes in cosmetic breast and body contouring surgery and cosmetic gynecology. He’s had extensive training with high-definition liposuction and Renuvion minimally invasive skin tightening. Dr. Alford has worked with thousands of patients throughout his years of training. Over time he’s realized that his favorite and most rewarding procedure is the mommy makeover. Following the changes that can occur with pregnancy and breastfeeding, many women are eager to return to their pre-pregnancy body and confidence. Dr. Alford enjoys working with moms to help them look and feel as confident and comfortable with their bodies as they did before having children.
Dr. Alford appreciates the importance of being a life-long learner and takes every opportunity to teach and learn. As such, Dr. Alford has attended regional and national conferences in his specialties for the last five years. He also actively participated in research projects, developing many of his own, throughout residency and fellowship training. He is an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, the American College of Surgeons, and the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Alford splits his time between Chicago and Detroit. He enjoys spending time with his seven-year-old twins, reading, discovering new restaurants, traveling with his family, spending time outdoors, and cooking at home with friends and family.
