What is Noninvasive Laser Liposuction and Is it Effective?

Noninvasive Laser Liposuction

Traditional liposuction is an invasive fat removal procedure that removes excess fat from areas such as the abdomen, neck, arms, and thighs.

Non-invasive laser liposuction, meanwhile, uses laser energy applied through the skin rather than cutting incisions like liposuction.

Laser Liposuction: How Does It Work?

Non-invasive laser liposuction differs from traditional liposuction because it focuses on shrinking fat cells, not removing them.

For example, some laser liposuction brands use pads equipped with laser diodes that are placed directly onto the skin.

These brands claim that laser energy penetrates the fat cells and forms holes in their membranes. Fatty acids, water, and glycerol are expelled from the opening, causing them to shrink and change the treatment site's shape.

The expelled contents are naturally removed through the lymphatic system.

Candidates For Noninvasive Laser Lipo

Compared to traditional liposuction, there are fewer ideal candidates for laser liposuction if looking to achieve significant results.

The optimal candidate for non-invasive laser liposuction is someone that is only around 25 pounds over their ideal weight, has 'trouble areas' in which to extract fat, and has decent skin elasticity. That said, because this treatment is fully nonsurgical, more people can receive the procedure without health concerns.

If you're unsure if you qualify under these requirements, consult a physician to clarify doubts about the procedure.

How Is Non-Invasive Laser Liposuction Performed?

A provider applies the laser-equipped pads to the area you'd like to treat. The site is then inundated with laser energy for an extended period.

If necessary, the pads are moved to focus energy on another area. That's practically it. After a session, you are unlikely to see immediate changes; thus, most patients need to undergo multiple sessions for optimal results.

Treatment schedules require that you undergo 6-8 sessions for maximum results, usually at about two per week. Given that this type of laser liposuction isn't invasive, there's no downtime, meaning you can immediately return to your daily errands. However, most patients still experience moderate to significant discomfort that necessitates some rest.

A Better Modern Fat Removal Process

If you're not interested in paying for six to eight sessions just to see meager results or undergoing invasive traditional liposuction, consider the minimally invasive, patented fat removal procedure called AirSculpt®.

An AirSculpt® procedure provides quick, dramatic results in a single treatment that continues to improve with time. We aim to precisely and artistically sculpt the body with a high degree of personalization rather than placing a pad over a treated area.

Nonetheless, AirSculpt® procedures are performed without a scalpel, needle, stitches, or general anesthesia, making it less risky than traditional liposuction.

  1. The Elite Body Sculpture surgeon will apply numbing medication to the treatment area's skin with an AirPen, a patented device that uses pressurized air differentials – no needle involved!
  2. A biopsy punch will then be used to create a perfectly symmetrical two-millimeter-wide hole that heals to look like a mere freckle.
  3. After numbing the area with a local anesthetic, the surgeon will then use the patented AirSculpt® cannula to extract fat cells from the site with a mechanical plucking motion. This enhanced accuracy of results while minimizing potential side effects.
  4. No stitches are involved; the two millimeter-wide holes are naturally left to heal, leaving tiny, freckle-sized scars, if they form at all.
