What Is the Body Tite Treatment, and Is It Different From AirSculpt?
BodyTite uses radio frequency (RF) energy to firm the skin and dissolves fat, making it easier to remove by liposuction. This somewhat new option is often called RF-assisted lipolysis. BodyTite can be performed alone or in combination with liposuction. Liposuction removes fat cells, while the RF waves in BodyTite help tighten the skin.
Like the more popular liposuction, BodyTite requires small incisions and local anesthesia, so it is considered a minimally invasive procedure. The ideal candidate for BodyTite is someone with stubborn fat on the neck, arms, upper arms, abdomen, buttocks, or knees.
What Areas Are Treated With BodyTite?
- Bat wings (Underarm Fat)
- Love handles
- Abdominal fat
- Fat on knees and thighs
- Breasts that need to be lifted or firmed
- Fat in the bra line
- Male breast tissue
Is BodyTite a Safe Treatment?
BodyTite is FDA approved for use on the abdomen, arms, breasts, knees, and thighs. It is mainly considered risk-free. The surgeon uses a device to control the temperature, reducing the risk of heat burns.
Having the procedure performed by a certified plastic surgeon is the most effective way to ensure a trouble-free operation. If you choose an experienced professional and follow all of the surgeon's instructions, BodyTite is usually a safe procedure.
What Happens During A BodyTite Procedure?
Once you are taken to the treatment room, you can sit or lie down in a comfortable position. The surgeon or nurse will apply a numbing gel to treat the area. This gel minimizes the pain you will feel and prevents the radiofrequency rays from damaging your skin during the procedure. It may feel a little cool to the touch.
The BodyTite tool is attached to a handheld device that the surgeon uses to perform the procedure. The device uses two radiofrequency probes, one inserted into your body - through a small incision the surgeon makes in your skin at the treatment site - and the other remains outside your skin. When the radiofrequency lever moves, the device sends an electric current between the two probes.
The probes use these radio frequencies to generate heat, which creates collagen, dissolves fat cells, and tightens and firms the skin. The currents specifically target unwanted fat. They heat the fat cells, causing them to swell and harden, making them less difficult to remove.
After using radiofrequency waves, a cannula is used to suction out the excess heated fat. The advantage of this procedure is that the skin tightening effect is considered adequate. It takes 30-45 minutes to treat each area. For those who want to treat multiple sites, the procedure can take 1-3 hours.
How Does BodyTite Compare With AirSculpt?
BodyTite is a process that follows the same tools and techniques as radiofrequency-assisted liposuction.
Many ask how this treatment compares with other minimally invasive alternatives, and one common question is if BodyTite is better than AirSculpt®.
Whereas BodyTite offers the benefits of liposuction and skin tightening at once, it does not necessarily excel at both. AirSculpt® uses state-of-the-art fat removal technology that offers results with more precision and personalization than any other technique. Its patented technique removes fat cell-by-cell with mechanical precision, removing any manual guessing that comparable procedures still require.
Regarding skin tightening, AirSculpt® excels as well, thanks to its innovative new option called AirSculpt® +. This minimally invasive treatment combines helium gas and radiofrequency energy to create a plasma specially equipped to correct sagging skin and restore a youthful, natural appearance.
Skin tightening is less significant with BodyTite, while AirSculpt® + offers a much more dramatic and comfortable alternative for patients. BodyTite offers some skin tightening and modest fat removal, whereas AirSculpt® + provides the best of both.
