7 Tips for Managing and Preventing Aging Skin

 Aging Skin

If you're in your mid-20s or 30s, now is the best time to do everything you can to go against the tide of aging. What you do now for or against your skin will have noticeable consequences as you age.

Some of the best things you can start doing now are not tanning or smoking. Please don't count on kicking these habits later in life; it won't protect your skin from what's happening right now.

Signs of aging will slowly creep up on you in your 30s, but it's also an excellent time to start because a little effort can go a long way.

Further on, we will address some anti-skin aging home tips that you can pick up to keep your youthful glow!

Sunscreen Everyday Works Wonders

No matter the weather and seasons, wearing sunscreen should be a daily component of your morning routine, as essential as brushing your teeth.

The American Academy of Dermatology recommends sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 with a 'broad-spectrum' on the label.

Broad-spectrum sunscreen entails that it protects against the sun's UVA and UVB rays.

Stop Tanning

Tanning can be one of the biggest skin mistakes you can make. Ultraviolet radiation causes your skin to look worse as time goes by.

Small doses of sunlight are good for the body and help produce Vitamin D. Sunlight in the morning can also help regulate your circadian rhythm, making it easier to move right away after waking up.

Too much sun, however, can lead to skin discoloration and a significant decrease in elastin and collagen production.

Use Sunglasses

Sunglasses aren't only for protecting your eyes. They're also useful for protecting the delicate skin around them. Less squinting equals fewer wrinkles.

Keep Your Head Covered

Alongside sunscreen, wearing hats with a broad brim helps as well.

If you're someone who works in the sun a lot, wear sun-protective clothing with at least 30 SPF.

Stop Tobacco Use

You know well enough that smoking is terrible news for your health. In terms of your skin, it speeds up collagen breakdown and constricts blood vessels that carry nutrients and oxygen to your skin.

Don't Drink A Lot

Having a nice drink at the bar with your friends or accompanying that Italian meal with a red wine glass is okay.

Yet, drinking too much alcohol causes your skin to dehydrate. It also dilates your blood vessels, potentially leading to skin conditions like rosacea.

Use Retinoids And Retinols

Retinoids are prescription face medications that help your skin look younger. Retinols are weaker forms of medicine that can be obtained over the counter.
