AirSculpt vs Minimally Invasive Liposuction: A World Apart

man shrugging shoulders

Liposuction first became popular around the 1980s. It's responsible for revolutionizing much of the cosmetic world. Back then, there was no previous method to remove fat from a patient's body directly.

Regardless of its popularity, liposuction itself can't be fully categorized as reliable and safe. All surgery has its risks, and as in most aesthetic procedures, only experience and consistency can make a surgeon guarantee perfect results.

Fortunately, liposuction techniques have advanced, and technology is now at the front of developing fat removal procedures that are safer and more precise.

Tumescent Liposuction: An Advanced Form of Fat Removal

Tumescent liposuction is a fat removal procedure that is defined by the type of anesthetic that is used. Within traditional methods, general anesthesia is used to keep the patient unconscious during the extraction process.

The tumescent anesthetic allows the patient to be awake while fat is removed from their body. The suspect anesthetic consists of a sterile saline solution, lidocaine, and epinephrine.

Large volumes of this solution are extracted into the fatty tissue. Once it has thoroughly soaked into the fat, the surgery can begin.

It Gets More Advanced Than That: Laser Liposuction Techniques

A more technological approach has also trumped tumescent liposuction to prepare the fat for extraction. Laser lipolysis is a minimally invasive process that uses laser heat at various frequencies to ready the fat for removal.

There's A Wide Array of Minimally Invasive Liposuction Techniques

Minimally invasive liposuction has different techniques; nevertheless, not all of them have been able to remove the same amount of fat as liposuction and be entirely risk-free.

The procedure that has been successful on these fronts is the AirSculpt®, a fat removal process that doesn't use a scalpel, needle, or general anesthesia.

So what is AirSculpt®?

AirSculpt® offers liposuction-like results through a minimally invasive procedure tailored to provide you with precise results. It uses a patented cannula that spins robotically, taking any guessing, which is characteristic of manual liposuction techniques, out of the equation.

Benefits of AirSculpt®

The AirSculpt® cannula enables surgeons to pluck fat cells like berries off a bush with incredible finesse. It spins in an automated, rapid manner, providing increased control during the fat removal process.

The AirSculpt® technology also has the fantastic feature of simultaneously tightening the skin.

It's also important to add that the recovery time with AirSculpt® is much less than all of its competitors. You're able to return to a routine after about 48 hours.
