Can Botched Liposuction Be Corrected?

There's nothing more frustrating than undergoing a cosmetic procedure that didn't go as planned. Sometimes some things are out of our control, more than we realize, but sometimes faults during surgery result from an inexperienced doctor or an inadequate technique.

If you've undergone botched surgery, Elite Body Sculpture can help you obtain the physique and aesthetic you've always wanted.

The most common issues are liposuction defects in which the surgeon removes too much fat or carelessly extracts the fat. In some other cases, too little fat was removed, failing to give the patient the desired results.

Liposuction Gone Wrong

The main issue with liposuction is that the sign of an inadequately performed procedure isn't noticeable right away. As with all surgeries, there is a recovery period where swelling must subside, the skin should tighten, and muscle tone has to take place to see the full effects of the procedure.

Nevertheless, there are cases where it's evident that the procedure was poorly performed immediately after leaving the surgical facility.

The typical signs of botched liposuction are:

  1. Uneven areas where fat wasn't removed.
  2. Hollow indentations indicate that too much fat was removed.
  3. Skin discolorations.
  4. Squashed or sagging skin.
  5. Too little fat being removed.

How Botched Liposuction Can Be Corrected

Correction is unique to each patient, but you expect a combination of liposculpture and fat transfers to provide you with the actual results you were expecting.

Liposculpture is a procedure designed to remove excess fat from uneven areas to form a smoother contour. Fat transfers are used to fill gaps where too much fat was removed.

If the indentations are all close together, liposculpture will not be necessary, given that the surgeon can shift the to eliminate the groups by fat transfers alone.

How Long Is Recovery?

Fortunately, liposuction correction procedures tend to have a quick downtime period that lasts about a few days. The most common side effects are swelling and bruising, yet they could be easily managed with compression garments.

Elite Body Sculpture Can Fix Botched Procedures

At Elite Body Sculpture, we take great pride in providing patients with comfortable and accurate alternatives to liposuction without having to worry about risks or potential complications.

Corrective AirSculpt® is our minimally invasive process designed to fill out irregularities formed by previously botched liposuction without using a scalpel, needle, stitches, or general anesthesia, allowing for a much shorter recovery time and no noticeable scarring.

The elements that make us less invasive also enable AirSculpt surgeons to sculpt areas with enhanced finesse, critical when correcting prior liposuction mistakes. Our versatile treatment can even include a fat transfer to ensure smooth, symmetrical results are finally attained.
