Reviewing The Brazilian Butt Lift Recovery Timeline
According to data from the Aesthetic Society, the number of Brazilian butt lift procedures performed increased by 37 percent between 2020 and 2021.
The increase can be linked to our growing cultural obsession with the backside. While the shapely derriere is the primary focus when undergoing a Brazilian butt lift, it's essential to understand the recovery process.
After a surgical procedure, how you care for yourself will heavily impact your results, allowing you to recover naturally. Therefore, don't rush through the process; it's never a great idea.
Take the appropriate time off work and ensure you have the right equipment to make it an easy experience. Items you should have at your disposal are a booty pillow and a fridge full of healthy foods.
When it comes to your diet, eat a nutritious diet low in sugar and salt. Don't drink alcohol or smoke, given that these habits will affect how your body heals.
One of the more essential recovery tips is that you don't sit on your buttocks for at least three weeks. Use a pillow to prevent your buttocks from being exposed to pressure.
Overall, BBL recovery can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks, depending on the extent of the procedure and how well you take care of yourself afterward. In this article, we'll provide you with some tips and advice for a safe and speedy BBL recovery.
After Your Surgery: What To Expect Right Away
Before your surgery, you should hire a caretaker. That could be a friend, family member, or a professional service that you consult. They'll be responsible for driving you home after the operation and will help you out throughout the house for several days.
Immediately after your BBL procedure, you'll be taken to a recovery room to be monitored for a few hours. You'll likely experience some pain and discomfort, as well as swelling and bruising around the treated areas. Your surgeon will provide you with pain medication to help manage your discomfort.
Tell your surgeon to prescribe pain medication to help manage the discomfort for the coming days if you feel unbearable pain.
Once home, you will experience soreness, bruising, and swelling. You might also feel an initial feeling of numbness.
Try to alternate between resting and taking light walks. This low-intensity exercise is necessary for you to reduce swelling and support circulation. All in all, your surgeon will provide you with detailed guidelines that you should follow to care for your body during your recovery.
We cannot stress enough that you do not add direct pressure to your buttocks. Failure to do so can ruin the results of your Brazilian butt lift by causing pressure on the newly transferred fat cells; therefore, you should sleep on your side or stomach. Also, use a "booty" pillow specially designed to put pressure on your thighs to avoid impacting the fat.
Here's a timeline for your Brazilian butt lift recovery week by week:
Week One
During the first week of recovery, your surgeon will instruct you to wear a compression garment for the areas treated with liposuction to subdue the swelling and fluid retention.
The garment can also help your decrease discomfort and soothe the skin tighten. At this stage, continue to use the specialized pillow and attend the follow-up visits with your surgeon to monitor your healing.
Weeks Two and Three
As you progress through your recovery, you'll gradually be able to resume more of your normal activities. However, you'll still need to avoid any actions that could put pressure on your buttocks, such as sitting for long periods. You may also need to continue wearing a compression garment for several weeks.
The pain and tenderness at this point should subside significantly. However, you will likely continue to experience swelling.
With the use of your pillow, you'll be able to begin driving and resume your light exercises.
Weeks Four to Five
During these weeks, you can begin taking longer walks and resume your light exercises. Do not attempt heavy lifting, and that also includes your household chores.
You should continue to feel slight pain or tenderness, but don't be alarmed. If it is severe discomfort, do contact your surgeon immediately.
Week Six
By this point, you shouldn't feel discomfort or soreness. If your recovery is going well, your surgeon should clear you to resume lower body exercises.
This week, the results of the Brazilian butt lift should become visible.
Nonetheless, this is a loose timeline, given that everyone's body is different. Several factors, including your age, health, and medical history, can impact how you recover.

How Does Our AirSculpt® Power BBL™ Work?
Let's get into the details.
Our AirSculpt® Power BBL™ starts with the provider using the patented AirPen, a device that uses pressurized air to distribute the numbing solution to the skin. We don't use a needle!
Afterward, the provider uses a biopsy punch to form a perfectly symmetrical two-millimeter hole on the area where fat is extracted. The harvest sites are usually the flanks, thighs, and abdomen.
Once the aperture has been formed and local anesthetic administered, the patented AirSculpt® cannula is then inserted to extract the fat and simultaneously tighten the surrounding skin.
Once all the fat has been removed, it's treated to ensure only quality material remains. The AirPen and biopsy pen are then used on the buttocks, and the fat injection process begins.
All openings made within this procedure are naturally left to heal, given that they are too small to cause any harm, just leaving a mark the size of a tiny freckle. With AirSculpt, entry point scars after a BBL pale in comparison to the large incisions often made during liposuction or implants.
